My passion is working with colour and fabric.
I have always enjoyed being creative and recent investigation into the future sustainability of our clothing has led me into designing my current work. This is using my practical skills for clothing.
I have discovered neglected end of rolls, damaged or misprinted high quality fabrics that could have another use, be up-cycled, and use their intrinsic qualities of beauty and warmth.
Silks, fine Liberty Varuna wool, and cashmere are being used and given a new life. Each piece is individual as the fabric sourcing provides variable quantities. I’ve considered various ways of combining these different fabrics and found the Japanese way of Saisiko the most satisfying. This has provided me with a challenge to design unique handmade items
